MJP (Mike Petraglia): Bio

Born in the Bronx, raised on Long Island and currently residing in Buffalo, Mike has always had a deep love for music.
Captivated by the guitar sounds of The Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Neil Young and countless others there was no way he could just sit on the sidelines.
With a Guild S-90, a Fender Bandmaster and a whole lot of determination, he honed his guitar skills through numerous cover bands.
It wasn't long before his cataloge of original songs became to large to ignore.
Diving head first into Digital Recording he put together a project studio and virtually disappeared for two years.
His first CD, "In Good Time", followed by "Safer Ground ", have both been warmly received in Western New York.
"I started recording at an early age. I had a small open reel recorded when I was a kid and used to record Beatle albums with a cheap mic. The sound quality was terrible. Over the years I went from various cassette recorder's to a Teac reel to reel which I still have today. I think of it as a museum piece. All my current work is done digitally in my Basement Studio which I call "Deep Six Studios"
Mike is currently doing solo acoustic work at various coffee houses and other venues through out the region.
In early 2007 Mike began rehearsing with long time friend Ed Ehmke. After several personel changes the band "Inside Out" was created. " It's waa departure from the acoustic shows I've been doing but it's wasa ton of fun. I love electric guitar and I hadn't realized how much I missed the power of a full band.
"Inside Out" lasted two years with a couple of personel changes and when it ran it's course Mike went back in the studio and finished up his fourth CD "Must Have Been You'
Mike then teamed up with Ric Johnson and Dan Heath to form a new three piece band called "A Tighter Circle". This band did a mix of covers and originals and leaned more toward acoustic.
Mike is currently playing with "Then And Now" This classic rock band can really rock and every member can sing. He still does occasional acoustic shows at local venues and is starting to put mateial together for a 5th CD!
